The Hikvision DS-2CD2642FWD-I is a 4-Megapixel IP Bullet Infra Red Camera with an adjustable V/F Lens & Wide Dynamic Range.

This IP Bullet IR Camera has an ingress protection of IP66-rated which protects it from water damage and dust ingress. The varifocal camera produces 4 megapixel resolution at 20 frames per second or full high definition at 25 fps. The camera has advanced night-time surveillance with an IR cut filter and built-in Infra Red LEDs providing up to 30 meters illumination in darkness. It also comes with the following features including PoE, dual codec, 3D noise reduction, digital Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), ONVIF compliant and edge storage.

The camera can be angled to provide a flexible horizontal viewing angle of 33.8° to 112° and produces full colour during the day when there is adequate light levels and will switch to produce black and white quality video at up to a 30 meter distance at night time.

This camera comes with digital Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) on board which allows it to perform in a variety of challenging lighting environments. For example if the camera is viewing a doorway the light levels are different outside the doorway than in the building, the camera can adjust to capture the person/target. With a standard camera the person/target would be extremely difficult to recognise or identify. The 3D noise reduction within the camera allows it to consistently produce high quality clear video throughout the day and night.

The camera can used without an NVR and can locally record via the Micro SD card slot on board. The video is compressed using H.264 or Motion JPEG and you can now add micro sd cards with up to 128GB of storage.

One patch cable can provide power and video as the camera comes with Power over Ethernet (PoE). A poe switch is required to provide the power and video. If connecting to an NVR it is recommended to use a Hikvision NVR. The majority of Hikvision NVRs come with POE on board with poe.

An IP camera must be located within 100 meters of the NVR or router, if you require further distance a switch must be used for every further 100 meters.
